Roughly 1 in 3 men and women in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime, a statistic that truly alarms me.

As a member of the 2027 Ride Team with Texas 4000 for Cancer, I will be supporting the fight against cancer while connecting this mission to things I already care about, like running, biking, and creating.

What draws me in isn’t just the ride itself, but everything leading up to it. The training and fundraising are part of a larger effort to support cancer research, patients, and families directly impacted by the disease. This experience will also expose me to stories and perspectives I would not otherwise encounter, deepening my understanding of what people go through when facing illness. A cause like this gives me a reason to show up consistently and push for something beyond myself.
