Hi! My name is Vignesh Winner, and I’m a senior at UT Austin studying Computational Engineering and Mathematics. In 2027, I’ll be biking more than 4,000 miles from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska as a member of Texas 4000 for Cancer.

For me, this ride is personal.

When my aunt was young, she passed away from a brain tumor. I never had the chance to truly know her, but her story has always been a part of my family’s story. Growing up knowing that someone in my family lost her life so young has stayed with me, and it is a big part of why this ride means so much to me.

I ride for her, but also for every person and family whose life has been changed by cancer and serious illness. I ride for the people we remember, the people still fighting, and the families standing beside them.

Texas 4000 is also an opportunity for me to challenge myself in a way I never have before. The ride will push me physically and mentally, but it is about much more than reaching Alaska. Along the way, our team will connect with communities, share information about cancer prevention and early detection, and raise money to support the fight against cancer.
