As an engineer, I use publicly available data every day. This data means the difference between having to do data collection and being able to start with a baseline of information to work off. By using publicly available data, I'm able to save time and dive straight into the heart of my work - problem solving. 

Dragon Master Initiative's mission is to streamline research on pediatric brain cancer by funding Cavatica, a public database of patient tumor data available to cancer researchers. Researchers can use this available data in their studies and move into clinical trials faster. By removing the roadblock of data collection, researchers can start problem solving and finding the next solution to treating pediatric cancer. 

Ten years ago my family lost a friend to a rare form of cancer. While no amount of time is ever enough with a loved one, our friend lived into adulthood and had a meaningful life with family, friendship, and laughter. Dragon Master's work supports those who have the most to lose to cancer - children who might not get the privilege of time. Every mile I run is for those children who aren't able to, and every step is with an awareness that each mile I run is a gift I should never take for granted.
