For years, running was a huge part of my life. I completed several Disney races and always dreamed of combining my love for running with the opportunity to make a difference. Then life happened.
What began as a short break from racing gradually turned into months, and eventually years, away from something I loved.
Over the past few years, I have faced mental health challenges, received an ADHD diagnosis in 2025, and navigated several medication changes. This diagnosis helped me better understand many things, including why I never felt able to commit to a charity fundraiser in the past. The timelines, energy, and level of commitment required often felt overwhelming, and my intentions did not always align with my ability to follow through. Now that I am in a better place with my medication and overall well-being, I feel ready to get back on track.
As I look back, I can see a clear connection between my mental health struggles and my decrease in physical activity. Running was never just exercise for me, it was an outlet, a source of strength, and an important part of my well-being that I often referred to as my therapy. Reconnecting with running is an important part of my healing, and this fundraiser gives that journey a meaningful purpose by supporting cancer research, patient care, and programs that help individuals and families facing one of life’s toughest challenges.
Now, I’m ready to begin that journey again.
This time, I’m running for something bigger than myself. Cancer is a disease that touches nearly every life in some way. Whether it’s a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor, most of us know someone whose life has been affected by cancer. It does not discriminate, and its impact reaches far beyond those diagnosed.
By supporting my fundraiser, you’re not only helping raise funds and awareness for an incredible cause, you’re also helping me take an important step forward in my own mental health journey. Together, we can make a difference while proving that healing, hope, and perseverance are possible one step at a time.
Thank you for your support and for joining me on this journey. If you’re able, please consider making a donation of any amount and sharing this fundraiser with others. Every contribution helps bring us closer to a future with better outcomes for those affected by cancer, and every act of support means more than you know.
