June 30, 2009 my mom passed away from stage 4 glioblastoma multiforme. About 4 months after my mom passed away UC Health had their very first Brain Tumor Walk. It came at a time we were all feeling pretty helpless and lost. We created a team, Denise's Dance, at the last minute and made up some fantastic team shirts and signs. We vowed to come together each year and continue on our tradition of Denise's Dance! Last year, there were over 70 people who were there as brain tumor survivors. There have been so many advances and growth over the last 11 years and all of the money they have raised definitely contributed to that. 

The walk is going to look a little different this year, but Denise's Dance is still going strong with our 11th year participating! Please consider donating to this very worthy cause. If you'd like to join us for the walk this year, virtually or in person, on October 18th let me know and I'll share our plans with you! We're working on figuring out a way to keep everyone connected even while physically apart (giant Zoom call maybe?). We would love to have the support and company during the walk if you're able to join us!
