November is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month,designated by President Ronald Reagan in 1983.  According to the Alzheimer's Association, at that time there were less than two million people with the disease.  Through the years that number has grown to more than five million.  Alzheimer's disease is a type of dementia that leads to memory, thinking and behavior problems.  It is the most common form of dementia and the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.

This disease affects millions of Americans, creating significant challenges for both the patient and their caregivers.  I want to take this opportunity to recognize and honor the millions of family members and friends across the U.S who are currently caring for a person living with Alzheimer's.  The first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there, but we won't get there without your help.  Please donate.
