2022 Route Details

The 2022 Wheels for Meals Charity Ride will offer five rides: a 10-mile Family Fun Ride, intermediate courses of 25- and 50-mile, an advanced 72-mile route and a 100-mile English Century ride. Check out all of the routes here, or see details on each one below!

2022 Wheels for Meals Routes

 

10-Mile Family Fun Ride

Enjoy an easy, family-friendly ride down the Swamp Rabbit Trail through Furman University. There will be a rest stop at the Swamp Rabbit Station before you return to Trailblazer Park. This car-free ride is a great introduction to cycling.

25-Mile Route

This ride enjoys the quiet roads and the scenic rolling terrain north of Travelers Rest.  Great introduction to open road riding for beginning cyclists or those venturing beyond bike paths.  There is a rest stop in Slater at Mile 16.

50-Mile Route

This ride will take you through the scenic roads above Travelers Rest, along the North Saluda River, near Campbell Covered Bridge, and through splendid farmland around Tigerville. There will be a rest stop at Mile 19 before you climb Callahan Mountain, and another rest stop at Mile 40.

Elevation Gain: +2,900 feet vertical (no Little Texas)

72-Mile Route

This route is a little longer than the standard metric century, but well worth the extra effort because it goes to some great destinations.  Riders will head North along the Saluda River, climb the Watershed to Saluda, enjoy the fabulous 176 descent and rollout to Tryon, cruise Lake Lanier’s East shore, then return close to Campbell Covered Bridge and through Tigerville farmland.  There is a rest stop at Mile 19 before you climb Watershed to Saluda.  At the turn to Lake Lanier (Mile 39) there will be another rest stop. The last stop will be Mile 61 at Bible Baptist Church.

100-Mile English Century

By popular demand the English route is similar to 2021 except the early part edited to use even lower traffic roads.  Riders will head North along the Saluda River, climb the Watershed to Saluda, take Holbert Cove to Mill Spring, see the best of Landrum’s horse country, cruise Lake Lanier’s East shore, then return close to Campbell Covered Bridge and through Tigerville farmland.  Rest Stop #1 is at Mile 19 before the Watershed, #2 is in Mill Spring (Mile 44), #3 is at the turn to Lake Lanier (Mile 67), and #4 will be Mile 89 at Bible Baptist Church.

2022 King & Queen of the Mountain Challenge

One male and one female rider will be named the King and Queen of the Mountain by completing the designated Mountain Challenge climb the fastest! All riders in the 72-mile route and 100-mile English Century are eligible to participate in this challenge. The winners will be awarded a one-of-a-kind Hincapie prize jersey.

Distance: 6.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,068 feet vertical

Ride with GPS | Start of the ascent will be marked with a Start2Finish Events timing station. Due to route layouts, only 72- and 100-mile cyclists are eligible for participation.
