I’m Raising Money for Still I Run

Dedicated to My Best Friend, Taylor Owens

I am beyond honored to be running the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon on Saturday, April 24, the world’s largest one-day fundraising event, in support of Still I Run, an organization dedicated to raising awareness for mental health through running. My goal is to raise $6,500 in honor of my best friend, Taylor Owens.

On February 26, 2026, Taylor lost her battle with mental illness. 2.26.26. Those numbers are forever etched on my heart. A marathon is 26.2 miles, and that doesn’t feel like a coincidence. The day I lost her has become the distance I’ll run for her.

For fifteen years, Taylor was my best friend, my soul sister, and one of my biggest supporters. We shared our dreams, celebrated life’s moments, and encouraged each other through the challenges. She had a way of making the people around her feel loved and understood, and that’s the part of her I want to carry forward. This race is my way of celebrating the person she was. She gave her love so freely, and now I want to pass it on, turning it into hope, support, and a reminder to anyone who needs it that they are not alone.

Losing her broke my heart, but it also gave me a purpose I never expected, and with it, a promise. A promise to Taylor, to her family and everyone who loved her, to myself, and most importantly, to anyone who is struggling or knows someone who is. For the rest of my life, I will honor her beautiful soul and make sure her light never stops shining. London is just the first step.

Why I’m running with Still I Run

Still I Run’s mission is to make every step a stride toward better mental health. Mental illness can be invisible, even to the people who love us most, and too many people are still fighting it in silence.

Still I Run is the first nonprofit in the US dedicated to promoting the benefits of running for mental health. Your donation helps fund free support groups, scholarships for people starting their own running journey, local run chapters, and resources that break the stigma around mental illness so no one has to struggle alone.

Taylor’s family has endured the unimaginable, and through it all, they have shown unwavering strength, grace, and love. They are the heart of Taylor’s story and my inspiration every step of the way.

Here’s how you can help

  • Donate: Give whatever you can. No amount is too small, and every gift brings me closer to my goal of $6,500 for Still I Run.
  • Spread the word: Share this page with anyone who knew and loved Taylor, and anyone who might need this message.

Thank you for loving Taylor with me. Every gift, every share, and every kind word helps her story reach someone who needs it most.

When I cross that finish line in London, I’ll look up and know Taylor is right there with me, cheering me on the way she always did. That moment won’t just be mine. It will be hers, and it will belong to every one of you who helped get us there.

Above all, if you or anyone you know is struggling, please know you are never alone. You matter, you are so deeply loved, and there is always hope. If you need support right now, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Taylor, this one is for you. Every step, every mile. I’ll carry you through London and every day after. I miss you and love you more than any words could ever hold. Until we meet again, my best friend.

Love,
Emily
