Hi, my name's Bri Ungania and I’ll be running the New York City Marathon for the Children's Heart Foundation in honor of my incredible younger cousin, Riley Rose MacConnie.
Riley was born on May 28, 2021, with congenital heart disease, specifically Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia. In just four years of life, she has already undergone multiple life-saving surgeries and spent 15 months in the ICU. Despite everything she has faced, Riley continues to show incredible strength and resilience in everything she does, having nothing short of a smile on her face every time I see her. She is, without a doubt, my greatest inspiration for everything I do.
Through every race I do, I’m reminded to never quit because of her. Riley not only inspires me, but everyone she meets, through her strength and the joy she brings despite everything she has overcome.
I’m also running for every child and family affected by congenital heart disease, in hopes of supporting the research that makes stories like Riley’s possible.
My goal is to raise $4,000 to support this mission. My family is forever grateful for the doctors, nurses, and researchers who have given Riley a chance to thrive, and with your support, we can continue to give that same hope to other families.
Please consider donating to “Racing for Riley.” Together, we can help fund life-saving research and make a difference for kids just like Ry ❤️ #TeamSmileyRiley
