This year, Athletes for Hope (AFH) celebrates its 20th anniversary — and I couldn't be more proud to be part of this milestone. AFH connects elite athletes with charitable causes, empowering them to give back and inspire communities across the country.

I first joined Athletes for Hope in 2009. I've had the privilege of helping build this organization from the inside — watching it grow, evolve, and create real, lasting change. When I reflect on what AFH has become and the collective impact our athlete members have made in communities around the world, I feel an immense sense of pride. 

Over the years, I've had the honor of helping connect athletes with causes that speak to them — from arranging for a player to visit kids at a children's hospital on an off day, to helping another step onto a stage as a guest speaker and share their story with a room full of people who needed to hear it. Every athlete comes to us with a different passion, and part of what I love most about this work is helping them find the place where their platform can do the most good.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world." It's a quote I've carried with me for years, and it's why working at AFH has been such a privilege — because our members don't just admire that idea, they live it every day.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we're also looking ahead — and the next 20 years hold enormous potential. But that future depends on the support of people who believe in the power of athletes to change the world.
