Cardinals United Care-A-Thon will help raise much needed funds to support classrooms at the elementary schools, recess equipment, fund field trips, and support students by ensuring basic needs are met through health and human service programs.
NEW for 2023 - A portion of the porceeds will go directly to the schools' food banks to help Newton families facing food insecurity. The remaining funds will be split between Newton schools and United Way.
Children will learn about different ways of caring in their physical education classes. Then they have the opportunity to take the Care-A-Thon Pledge:
*Care about others and be kind
*Care about my teachers, classmates and school
*Care about my health and make good choices
*Care about my community and the world around me
*Care about the environment
And remember all proceeds raised local will stay local in Newton thanks to this new Care-A-Thon approach!!! Since 2020, the funds raised during this program have stayed here in the community (not to a far off charity in a different city).
Cardinals United is a joint effort between Newton elementary school physical education department and United Way of Jasper County to teach kids about caring, community and beng part of something bigger than ourselves.
