I’m thrilled to be participating in Fuel Our Move, a fundraiser supporting The Potters’ Studio (TPS)! I’m passionate about this cause and need your help! Every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.

I have been a studen and member of TPS since 2018, and a board member since 2022. I also became chair of our fundraising committee which went into high gear in January 2024 as we were completing the purchase of our first studio-owned building. We are in the midst of a $5 million dollar capital campaign for which I am co-chair. In 2025 we must raise $1 million dollars, which is double anything else that we have done to date. With support from all of you we can reach our Fuel the Move goal of $250,000 by the end of June.

I have set a fundraising goal of $20,000. To help us get there, I will match up to $7000 of donations.

As we prepare for our Big Move into our new studio- the first studio-owned building in our 55+ year history- TPS needs our support. I believe in TPS's mission to provide lifelong learning through clay. I have seen the transformative power of collective creativity. But for a newly formed nonproift, it is a huge undertaking. To be frank, there historically has been very little financial support from foundations for ceramics, and arts giving is toward the bottom of giving lists. This is why supporting our campaign is so crucial.

As Scott Jennings, Teaching Artist and new Board VP, puts it: "I've taught at municipal studios, private studios, and colleges- what we have here is like no other place."

Your gift today at this crucial time for the studio will support construction and setup costs as we prepare to move ourselves and massive gas kilns to our new location. It also helps support us at a time where we have a loss of income due to holding no classes, workshops, or contract firings. And lastly, your gift helps us shape the next 50 years of creativity and communal learning at TPS.
