Team Fundraising Page

Thank you for your support!

The annual Move for MDS Walk in Boston meant a great deal to our dad, Alec Ireland, as he battled MDS (a rare form of blood cancer), which eventually progressed to Acute Myeloid Leukemia before he passed away last September. Our family plans to continue walking each year in his honor.

As we mark the first anniversary of Alec's passing, please consider supporting Team Ireland by making a donation toward our family's fundraising goal or registering to walk alongside us on October 25th.

Thank you for standing by our family as we work to honor Alec's legacy and raise awareness, research funds, and support for all those impacted by MDS around the world.

If you have friends or family between the ages of 18 and 40, please encourage them to sign up for a cheek swab kit to join the national bone marrow donor registry, NMDP (formerly Be the Match). Joining the registry could be the first step to saving someone’s life. Donating is not that invasive – just a little more intense than giving blood – and donors truly are lifelines for MDS patients. Stem cells are used to cure and treat over 75 different blood cancers and blood diseases, including MDS, leukemia, sickle cell anemia, and more. Please consider joining the registry and becoming a lifeline as a stem cell donor:  https://my.nmdp.org/s/join
