As many of you know, our daughter Sophie was born with a congenital heart defect known as L-Transposition of the great arteries. This defect of the heart causes a reversal in the normal blood flow pattern because the right and left lower chambers of the heart, along with the great arteries, are reversed. Sophie’s condition also was accompanied by a large hole in the middle. Sophie had two invasive surgeries and we are only a couple of months from our four year anniversary of the big double switch that turned her heart around. 06/06/17 to be exact!

Sophie continues to be med free and we have no plans for any surgeries in the near future. Unfortunately, there are many children we have met along the way that have not had the same outcome.

We continue to support this fundraiser so that hopefully in the future kids like Sophie will not have to travel across the country to get the medical care they need!

Last year, Team Sophie raised over $8k to help with research so children like Sophie can get the best care possible. To date, we have raised over $58k! Your tax deductible contribution is eligible for a full company match!.

This will truly be a fun and exciting event for family of all ages.  Last year we had 60 family, friends and co-workers walk with us. This year we are hoping for 100.
