Hope for Heterotaxy Team

My brother, Daniel  and I were both born with Heterotaxy Syndrome.  This is a complex syndrome that caused both of us to have severe congenital heart defects.  My brother died two months before his second birthday.

Exactly one year after Daniel was buried, I was born.  Minneapolis Children's Hospital saved my life!  I have had three open heart surgeries, one open chest surgery for my pacemaker placement, and one abdominal surgery.  As one of the oldest survivors, I am thankful for each day I have.  I am able to work full time and have a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  I will be getting married in three months!  None of this would be possible without the incredible team of medical professionals at Minneapolis Children's!
