Colten was born in February of 2013 with Congenital Heart Defects. Colten spent the first 7 months of his life at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis where he underwent 6 open heart surgeries (and much more). When Colten was 2 1/2 years old he unexpectedly went into heart failure and his heart could not be surgically fixed his time. Colten was placed on the heart transplant waiting list and declined quickly while waiting for a heart transplant. Colten passed away while waiting for a heart in February of 2016 just 3 days before his 3rd Birthday. Our family loves to participate in the Heartbeat5000 and raise funds for the cardiac unit in honor of Colten for all they have done for us, and Colten.
