Each year, thousands of children are diagnosed with cancer, severely affecting what many of us take for granted - the ability to have a healthy childhood. The Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic benefits the cancer research program at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
Honestly, the older I get the more sensitive I've become to lives ending prematurely. I'm hoping to in some small way enable research scientists to have the funds they need to prevent cancer from winning.
I was asked just recently to participate in this event which is why I'm late to the fundraising game. I have only until Friday to raise $750. I promise I won't be late for the match, though! I play this Friday (with the fabulous Bruce Gullikson) in the Grand Masters Division--where all the cool cats play--at 4:00. I'd love to see you if you're local; come watch!
