About me

I am proud of Grant Thornton's partnership with Junior Achievement (JA). As a mother of two school-aged children, JA's mission is near and dear to my heart.

The current generation of elementary-school children has dealt with unprecedented disruption and loss. COVID shut-downs and school shootings are just the tip of the iceberg for many families who are at or below the poverty line. Our children need mental health support, academic support, and financial support more than ever. 

A bit about me: I attended a public school in my hometown where up to 70% of students qualified for free or subsidized school lunches. That means the majority of the children I went to school with had parents who couldn't regularly afford to buy their children a bagged lunch. I saw first-hand how a little bit of help can go a long way for children in need.
