Our daughter Kenlee was born at 26 weeks in Duluth, MN. She was initially doing really well until she contracted a stomach infection on her 3rd day of life. The doctors in Duluth were concerned that she may need surgery and recommended that we transfer her to Children's Mpls. It was our home for just over 4 months. Ultimately Kenlee did not need surgery. She was able to kick the infection with antibiotics. Over the next few months she would overcome pneumonia, two blood infections and start to breathe on her own. Kenlee is a tough little fighter but we largely credit the excellent care she received at Children's for her health. Today she is a thriving 13lb 10oz one year old.
