This year we are participating in the 2018 Walk for Amazing to raise money for the NICU at Children's Hospital. Emily & McKenzie were born at 28 weeks and spent a total of nine weeks in the NICU. The day they were born was the scariest day of our lives but the compassionate doctors and nurses helped us stay calm. We were so impressed with the staff in the NICU; they made the nine weeks we spent there a little bit easier. They took excellent care of our tiny 2.5 lb peanuts and made sure everything was done to help them thrive. They involved us in the girls' care as much as possible and prepared us for the time we could bring them home. We were so lucky our girls had no complications, but not every family is. We want to do what we can to make sure those families also receive the amazing care we did at the NICU.
