We at MILE Landscaping hold Children's Hospital very dear to our hearts.

In November of 2016 our son was at that time just 6 weeks old. I walked out into the livingroom and went to pick up our son and he was very warm to the touch. I uncovered him from his swaddle and let him sit there for a while. When I went to pick him up and check him again he was still very warm. So I called my work (Woodwinds) and spoke with the peds doctor that was on. She told me to go to Children's Hospital IMMEDIATLY. Let me tell you this, I was terrified that a doctor that I worked with and trusted so well said the words IMMEDIATLY. That does not happen with ER doctors often! Also let me tell you, It does not get easier whether it is your first kid or your 4th to hear those words. I got into the car, my heart racing and drove to Children's hospital ER. There the triage nurse deamed his fever to be a "true fever" and he was sent back  to a room right away where the nurses and doctors rushed in and did an entire septic work up. If you are not familiar with this term. Basically it is every poke and prod you can imagine. He even recieved a spinal tap. Once they were done they put an IV in where he recieved intense antibiotics for the next three or four days until all the tests came back negative. We were sent home finally!

The next evening I noticed that Elijah was wheezing so I took him right back to the ER where they admitted him to watch him overnight. We were released that next day. He seemed fine and I was alright with the plan to go home and watch him.

The next morning he took a turn for the worse. I took him to his pediatric clinic and asked them if they could get him back into a room right away because I thought he needed oxygen. The nurse took him back into a room and said "you need to get him to the emergency room right away this is a SICK kid" We then took an ambulance ride back to children's hospital. From there he spent a few weeks between the medical floors and even spent time in the Pediatric intensive care unit. He was diagnosed with RSV Pneumonia.

During this terrifying time in our lives I, not once, ever questioned the care that he was recieving. The nurses, providers and aides were all outstanding! I was so impressed with the care that he recieved that I actually applied for, and accepted a position within children's hospital. I have now worked at children's for over a year and I still love everything about my job. I am glad that I can now be here for other chlidren in the same way that the staff was once there for my child.

We will never go anywhere else for our childrens care.

Elijah is now doing better. He a critical care doctor and also an immunologist annually through children's to make sure that he has a clean bill of health and to stay ahead of things to make sure nothing like this happens again.

As a small business we would like to have you join us in supporting this wonderful company and raise money for the unit that elijah was on the most the 5th floor neuroscience unit. This money will help them to get supplies and do extra fun things for the children to make their hospital stay maybe just a little bit more fun and less like a boring or scary hospital stay.
