August 9th, 2017 was one of the scariest days of our lives. Our twin girls Emilia and Chloe were born extremely premature at 29 weeks and 6 days. Neither girl could breathe, maintain their temperature, or eat on their own. In addition, our little Emilia had to have surgery at only 10 days old due to a level 2/3 brain hemorrhage. Harold and I thought we were going to lose our precious girls; it was a terrifying experience. Our girls stayed in Children´s for nearly two months before they were strong enough to come home. The staff at Children´s not only provided our girls with excellent medical treatment, but were very emotionally supportive to us as parents during this difficult time. Also, the nurses that took care of Emilia and Chloe didn´t just treat them like patients, but like sweet babies that deserved love and affection. The staff at Children´s saved our daugthers and we will always be grateful. If you are going to donate to anything this year, donate to a place that makes miracles happen everyday. All of the funds donated through our team will go to the NICU at Children´s to help other babies like Emilia and Chloe grow big and strong.
