Adelynn was born on February 27th, 2018 and had a pretty bumpy start to this thing we all call life. 

She was born with the cord wrapped around her neck, a partially collapsed lung and an air pocket outside of her lung. Due to these complications, she was unreponsive at birth.

Children's NICU rushed to Woodwinds Hospital, where Adelynn was born, to transport her back to the NICU. They cooled Adelynn's body for 72 hours to reduce swelling of her brain, they removed the air pocket, put in a chest tube and breathing tube along with many other things to help improve Adelynn's outcome. We spent the first 12 days of her life in the NICU.

Adelynn was officially diagnosed with HIE (decreased oxygen and blood to the brain).

I am happy to say that because of our amazing God, along with the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Saint Paul Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, our baby's life was not only made possible, but she's doing extremely well and is living the life of any normal, healthy baby.
