Hello! Our team is participating in the 39th Annual Walk for Hospice.The money we are raising goes to enrichment programs like music therapy, pet therapy and massage therapy - among others - and are vital components of well-rounded end-of-life care. As a nurse with Care Dimensions, I have seen, firsthand, the incredible benefits our patients recieve with these programs. I have sung with patients who are non-verbal as they burst into song when their favorites are played. I have watched shoulders full of pain and stress relax during a massage. I have wept at the beauty of a patient looking deeply into the eyes of a therapy dog, as hands that chronically struggle to open reach out to stroke their soft fur. These moments can add such sweetness to our patients' end-of-life experiences. Anything we can do to ease the pain and sorrow of this time is vital. Finding authentic experiences at end-of-life, while bittersweet, has become my life's work, and is my passion. I am so grateful for the opportunity to support this endeavor, for sure.
