I will be participating for the first time in the Care Dimensions 39th Annual Walk for Hospice, a fundraiser supporting Care Dimensions! I’m passionate about this cause because Care Dimensions was a lifeline and critical resource my family needed once my Nana, MaryAnn Brown, was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dimentia. My Nana spent the last week of her life at Kaplan Family Hospice House and I have never been more impressed by a staff of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers. They were the kindest, gentlest, most caring, and empathetic people I ever met and it made the hardest moment of our lives feel peaceful. The staff are actual angels living on Earth. Their patient-centered care, comfort, advocacy, and hugs will never be forgotten and I'd like to do my best to give back by participating in the Walk for Hospice.

As we are coming up to 5 months since her passing, there is not a day that goes by where I do not think about Nana and I miss her so much. Thank you again to the Kaplan team for comforting her in her last days and for supporting all of our family when navigating her care and our grieving process.
