Our son, Jake, who will turn 14 years old in September, was diagnosed with Pallister-Killian Syndrome (PKS) shortly after he was born. Jake is globally delayed.  He is legally blind and has profound hearing loss.  He is non-verbal and non-ambulatory.  Jake has seizures, reflux and apneic/seizure episodes out of sleep with significant de-saturation in his oxygen level.  Jake has gone through 12 surgeries in 10 years on his hips, eyes & ears and has been hospitalized 11 additional times for various illnesses & seizure activity.  Despite the hardships, he is one happy young man!  We truly believe he was sent here from God to make a positive impact on as many people as possible. We have seen the affect Jake has on people and its truly incredible. The tears of worry and despair from when he spent his first weeks in the NICU have transformed into constant tears of joy we now share with an extended network of family and friends as we celebrate each smile, laugh and EVERY accomplishment. 

Angela's House has been a part of our lives every since Jake was accepted into the Care at Home program when he was 3 years old and we honestly couldn't imagine life without their support!  Not only has Angela's House helped with equipment and supplies that our insurance company wouldn't cover, but Jake's case managers have always been there to help us navigate this unplanned world we are a part of and this has been absolutely life changing!!
