Meet Our 2026 Johnstown Ambassador, Tyler

“To infinity and beyond!” This beloved Toy Story expression has been our motto for the past two years as we watch Tyler soar over obstacles and learn to adapt and learn in different ways despite his disability.

Tyler is a happy, friendly three year old who is quick to smile or laugh.
We learned at an early age that Tyler has congenital malformations and central nervous system/cranial nerve abnormalities which impact his vision, his balance and movement, and his overall development.

Tyler received Early Intervention services and is now receiving physical therapy, vision and speech services with the IU8. We were anxious to meet and work with Annette Shearman, SLP at Easterseals as her reputation precedes her and we wanted Tyler to have additional one-on-one speech
therapy to help him continue to improve and gain more speech. The methods and skills Annette implemented at Easterseals have helped him gain more confidence and we see real progress. We are excited to hear Tyler’s voice emerging!

At home, Tyler loves to watch Toy Story and Spidey & Friends, dance to fun music, read books (he loves I Spy!) and put together simple puzzles. He loves to tag along behind his eight year old brother and make
his mom and dad laugh. Any struggle Tyler has faced has been met with a quiet strength and determination that leave him with infinite possibilities.

Why Fundraise for Us?

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is leading the way to full equity, inclusion, and access through life-changing disability and community services.
