After watching last year’s 48 Hours participants, my family and I became passionate about helping those experiencing homelessness in our community. We have spent this year learning as much about Aurora and how we can help as possible, and now it feels like things are coming full circle since I’ll now be participating myself. My hope is that I can take away some insight as to how I can better help our underserved, and I’m hoping that my experience this year will touch and inspire someone the way last year’s did me.
About Aurora
Aurora is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless and near homeless in the Greater Evansville, IN area. Each year, it serves over 350 individuals: men, women, children, seniors, those with disabilities, and the re-entry population.
The Homeless Experience Project is Aurora’s new fundraiser and awareness event and its purpose is to bring a greater understanding of the struggles the families and individuals face when homeless in our community. If you'd like to support Aurora, please donate to my fundraising page!
