Margot is full of joy. She is incredibly silly, loves to laugh, and lights up when she hears music (especially if it means she can dance- ask her to show you her woodchopper move). Her happiness is contagious, and she brings so much love to everyone around her.
Margot has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and she is non-speaking. While she understands everything, she isn’t always able to tell us what she needs in the moment which can be challenging, especially when it comes to her safety and comfort.
That’s where a service dog will change everything for Margot and our family.
We are raising funds to bring a specially trained service dog into Margot’s life - a constant companion who will support her independence, safety, and confidence every single day.
Margot's service dog will be trained to:
- Alert us when she is having a seizure or needs help
- Stay by her side to help keep her safe
- Pick up dropped items and assist with everyday tasks
- Open doors and help her navigate her environment
- Provide calming, deep pressure support during moments of overwhelm or loud, startling sounds
- Offer comfort and companionship
In addition to all those things, this dog will give Margot greater independence. It will allow her to explore the world with more confidence, participate more fully, and feel safe doing the things she loves. We can not wait to see the impact this dog will have on Margot's life.
Thank you for being part of Margot’s story and helping us give her the gift of independence, safety, and comfort.
