Meet CHARLIE GEDDIE – a bright, beautiful little boy who brings joy to everyone who knows him. Charlie is AUTISTIC, NONVERBAL, and he also lives with EPILEPSY – a condition that causes unpredictable seizures.

Though he can’t speak words, Charlie communicates with love and joy in his own special way. Every day is a journey filled with challenges. A service dog would help Charlie stay safe and calm – and bring a little extra joy to his days.

A trained Service Dog will be helping Charlie with:

Seizure Detection – Alerting adults when Charlie has a seizure

Safety Support – Preventing wandering and keeping him close in public

Emotional Comfort – Easing meltdowns, anxiety, and sensory overload

Companionship – Giving Charlie a loyal friend he can trust

Independence – Helping Charlie explore the world more safely

Training a service dog to meet our child’s requirements can be very costly. On average it costs between $40,000-60,000 to raise, train, and place a service dog at 4 Paws for Ability. While 4 Paws for Ability fundraises to help cover a significant portion of this cost, families are tasked with raising $20,000 of that amount or $23,000 if receiving a poodle, doodle or papillon. We hope that we can receive assistance from our beloved family and friends to help make our service dog dream a reality.
