Jeramie's Story

Hi my name is Mia H., and i am creating a fundraiser for my precious 10-year-old son Jeramie. Jeramie was born very prematurely at just 23 weeks and suffered grade 3 and 4 brain bleeds at birth, leading to brain surgery at only 3 months old. We spent 8 months in the hospital fighting for Jeramie's life. Today Jeramie is nonverbal and bravely lives with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, and developmental delays. Jeramie's seizures are severe, unpredictable, and can become fatal if unwitnessed. After recent testing showed ongoing seizure activity, Our neurologist confirmed that Jeramie urgently needs a professionally trained seizure response service dog. This dog would be life-saving for Jeramie — helping detect seizures, waking us during the night so we can administer emergency medication, and providing comfort, stability, and protection during seizure episodes. Because Jeramie cannot communicate distress or call for help, this dog would truly be his lifeline. We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of Jeramie’s seizure response service dog Any donation, prayer, or share means more to our family than words can express. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Jeramie and helping us give him a safer future. God bless, Mia

Training a service dog to meet our child’s requirements can be very costly. On average it costs between $40,000-60,000 to raise, train, and place a service dog at 4 Paws for Ability. While 4 Paws for Ability fundraises to help cover a significant portion of this cost, families are tasked with raising $20,000 of that amount or $23,000 if receiving a poodle, doodle or papillon. We hope that we can receive assistance from our beloved family and friends to help make our service dog dream a reality.
