Two years after my accident, I've been approved for a service dog. We are thrilled and full of hope at what this means for me and the freedom I will find in having a dog. I'm excited to be able to go on a walk by myself or hang out with new friends without having to first warn them about my seizure disorder or make sure they have my moms phone number. To have the comfort of knowing I'll be cared for when away from my family and knowing I won't have to worry about the ambulance being called on me and then missing a day stuck in the E.R or at home sleeping off the medication they give me, makes this time of fundraising well worth it!
Our goal is $20,000 and we are covering this fundraising effort in prayer as God is our great provider. Will you partner with us not only in donating but in prayer?
The following verse has been my go-to verse over the last couple of years as I've struggled through so many different medical appointments and types of care while looking ahead to a future that has been so uncertain. I hope you find the same comfort in it that I have.
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Training a service dog to meet our child’s requirements can be very costly. On average it costs between $40,000-60,000 to raise, train, and place a service dog at 4 Paws for Ability. While 4 Paws for Ability fundraises to help cover a significant portion of this cost, families are tasked with raising $20,000 of that amount or $23,000 if receiving a poodle, doodle or papillon. We hope that we can receive assistance from our beloved family and friends to help make our service dog dream a reality.
