Hi Friends and Family!

CAIR Coalition is partnering with UndocuBlack Network this month for our second Halloween 5K for Justice!  Anti-Blackness has fundamentally shaped our immigration system from its earliest days.  We have seen this most recently in the horrific treatment of Haitian asylum seekers at our southern border, who were violently expelled from the United States without being permitted to apply for asylum, as is their right under both domestic and international law.

The UndocuBlack Network is a multi-generational network of currently and formerly undocumented Black people that fosters community, facilitates access to resources, and advocates to transform their reality so they can thrive and live their fullest lives.

Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition is the only organization in the Capital region that primarily works alongside immigrant children and adults detained by the government. Our programs include legal representation, so people may leave detention and stay in the United States safely and permanently; social services, so people can access support upon release from detention; and impact litigation, for sweeping policy change. As we work towards a more welcoming world, we remain dedicated to standing alongside people trapped in the fundamentally unjust system that currently exists.

Thank you for your support!

P.S: In case some of you are wondering, I will be walking (not running) for Justice!
