Racer Time Trials
At registration, you will be assigned your bib number, this bib number will be used for the time trials, AEC Challenge and during the Corporate Challenge race. No alternate racers will be allowed in the AEC Challenge, the team representative must be from the Corporate Challenge race team. Qualifying runs completed for the Corporate Challenge will also be used for the AEC Race.

AEC Challenge Race

All racers will head to the starting line at 1:45pm on February 19th and will be randomly assigned a course (red, yellow, or blue). The first three teams will compete head to head on the three courses. The winner from each heat will move on to the final round.
*We will be using a handicapping computer program used at many other pro–am style events around the world. This format allows individuals of various skiing abilities to race with family, friends, or co–workers. Handicapping individual racer times allows racers to fairly compete head to head by opening the start gates at different intervals based on each racer’s handicap.

Disqualifying
Racers will be disqualified if they are “pushed out“ or “jump” the start gates.

Fall, Missed Gate or Finish Line
Racers must complete the course making all of their gates and the finishing through their proper finish line. Course judges and marshals will be on the course to assist racers.
NOTE: Judges will be located at the start, on the course and at the finish line. The “call” of the area judge will determine the outcome. A protest must be made before advancing teams compete in their next round.

Capping & Sandbagging

All racers must ski their two time trials to the best of their ability. The computer handicapping program will establish a “cap,” which allows racers to improve their times as they become more comfortable with the course, but penalizes racers who ski much faster (or beyond) their cap by a substantial amount. Sandbagging will only hurt your team’s chance of advancement.
Racers who exceed their allotted “cap” will be penalized by the amount of time of the time violation (for that run). The penalized racer will receive an adjusted course time which could possibly affect the team’s score. Each racer’s handicap is adjusted after each run.

Bib Assignments & Distribution
Bib numbers are required for each team racer and CANNOT be switched once assigned. Computers will associate a designated racer with a designated bib for a “handicap.” Your bib number does not associate the racer with any skiing level.

NOTE: These rules are subject to change.

Corporate Challenge Rules

Friday, February 20th, 2026

RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Corporate Challenge teams are composed of one disabled racer and five amateur racers. Each team will meet at the starting line at 11:00am on Friday, February 20th. They compete head to head on three courses. The courses will rotate as follows for each team:
1. Two team members ski on the Red Course
2. Two team members ski on the Blue Course
3. Two team members ski on the Yellow Course
We will be using a handicapping computer program used at many other pro–am style events around the world. This format allows individuals of various skiing abilities to race with family, friends, or co–workers. Handicapping individual racer times allows racers to fairly compete head to head by opening the start gates at different intervals based on each racer’s handicap.

Racer Time Trials
All Corporate Challenge Racers and selected alternates MUST RUN TWO qualifying time trials on Lower Hughes. At registration, you will be assigned your bib number which will be used for the time trials and during the Corporate Challenge race. Racers can complete runs during either of these times.
Pre–selected alternate racers will be available to prevent the disqualification of a team. In the event of a racer “no–show,” the owner may request an alternate prior to the start of the race, without receiving any sort of penalty. All selected alternates will be qualified and handicapped on Friday. Because of the computer handicap system, once alternates are assigned they cannot be replaced.
Failure to qualify will result in a racer DQ in the first elimination round, and no (0) points will be awarded towards the team’s score. It is possible, but not unlikely, that the team could still advance. In that case, the disqualified racer’s time from the first elimination round will be entered as their qualifying handicap for subsequent rounds.

Time Trial Results & Cap Violation
The racer’s two raw qualifying times will be published prior to the start of the Corporate Challenge Race. A copy of the results will be posted at Bib Distribution. Also, a copy of the established “Cap Violation” bracket will be posted along with time trial results.

Starting Gate
Racers must be at the starting gate at the designated time or they will be automatically disqualified, receiving zero (0) points for their team. If a disqualified racer’s team advances to the next round, the disqualified racer can advance with their team. Racers will be disqualified if they are “pushed out“ or “jump” the start gates.

Disqualifying
Racers must complete each and every gate on their designated course and cross their finish line in order to receive the following points for each round:
1st Place: 3 points
2nd Place: 2 points
3rd Place: 1 point
DQ: 0 points
The points for each team are totaled. In the case of a tie, the score of the team’s disabled racer determines the advancing team.

Fall, Missed Gate or Finish Line
Racers must complete the course making all of their gates and the finishing through their proper finish line. If a racer falls or misses a gate, he/she has 1 minute to return to the course and successfully complete it. A second fall and/or loss of equipment will result in a DQ for that racer.

If you do not pick up your bib by 9:30am, an alternate racer will fill your spot.
