Due to the impending weather and the safety risks associated with hosting an outdoor event, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Walk for Hospice.
This was not an easy decision. We explored multiple options for how we could potentially hold the event in a different way if the weather did not improve. Ultimately, we determined that an event of this size, with its many outdoor elements and hundreds of guests, could not be safely held in these conditions, and it would not be the event our walkers deserve. Even an indoor or makeshift version would not provide the experience we had planned for you.

While we are disappointed, we are also incredibly grateful for your support. As of today, we have more than 80 teams registered, over 750 walkers, and have reached 87% of our fundraising goal. This is a direct result of the time and effort you have put into engaging your communities and sharing the mission of Care Dimensions with your friends, family, and loved ones. We are deeply moved by the support you have shown for our patients and families.
Many of you are walking in memory of someone you have lost. While the event is no longer taking place in the way we had hoped, we will continue to honor your loved ones and hold their memories close. They are remembered and celebrated, and we are honored to be a part of that.
In lieu of the in-person event, we encourage you to still walk when it is safe to do so. Whether you walk on your own or gather your team, we hope you’ll still “Walk for Hospice” in honor or memory of someone special. We’d love to see your photos and videos and share them with our community! And if your team made a special Walk shirt, be sure to wear it and send us a photo.
To everyone who has contributed to the Walk so far: thank you.
Funds raised through the Walk support compassionate hospice care, as well as vital Care Dimensions programs including bereavement support, complementary therapies, and assistance with non-medical needs that improve the quality of life for patients and families, such as groceries and utilities. Your support helps us continue to be there for patients and families when they need us most.
While the Walk is cancelled, fundraising will continue, and we hope you will consider helping us reach our fundraising goal. You can continue to collect donations, make a donation in honor or memory of someone special, or share your fundraising page with friends and family. Fundraising pages will remain open, and we will also continue to accept checks mailed to our office.

We are incredibly grateful for the support you have shown our patients and families, and for everything you have done to make this year’s Walk such a meaningful success, even under these unexpected circumstances.
