Disney and ABC7 Chicago have teamed up with Feeding America and local food banks to provide access to nutritious food in our community.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic inflation and soaring costs have hit families hard and having enough resources for nutritious food is challenge for hundreds of thousands in the Chicagoland area.

ABC7, a Disney company, is encouraging our community to support local food banks that provide millions of meals annually for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We have a goal to raise $50,000 before the end of the year!

All donations received will be processed by Northern Illinois Food Bank and directed to the donor’s local food bank by address.

Food Bank for Northwest Indiana (Lake and Porter counties, Indiana)

The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana has the been leading the fight against hunger in the Region since 1982. The Food Bank provides food assistance resulting in roughly 6 million meals annually to children, seniors, individuals, and families in Lake and Porter Counties through more than 100+ partner agencies, Mobile Market Distributions, Commodity Supplemental Food Program for seniors, Backpack programs, Pantry Pack programs and more. Greater Chicago Food Depository (Cook County)

The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago’s food bank, believes a healthy community starts with food. The Food Depository is at the center of a network of more than 700 partner organizations and programs – food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile distributions and other partners – working to bring food, dignity and hope to our neighbors across Chicago and Cook County. The Food Depository addresses the root causes of hunger with job training, advocacy and other innovative solutions. The Food Depository is a proud member of Feeding America – the national network of food banks. Our vision at Northern Illinois Food Bank is for everyone in Northern Illinois to have the food they need to thrive. A proud member of Feeding America, we serve our neighbors in 13 counties with dignity, equity and convenience, providing 250,000 meals a day. We bring together food and fund donors and each week nearly 1,000 volunteers help us evaluate, repack, and distribute food.
