David Pestell is Running to Support Snow City Arts!

Help me fundraise for a fantastic local non-profit while also helping me burn some calories before winter sets in!

What I'm doing:

I have committed to run for a combined 800 minutes (13.3 hours!) in the month of October to support Snow City Arts, a wonderful organization that I believe deserves all of our support.

Why I'm Running:

I have been a member of the Snow City Arts Auxiliary Board for the past year, and have personally witnessed the beautiful heart this organization has for the children it serves. This organization provides an unquestionable good for hospitalized children in this city, and makes highly effective use of its funds to further its mission. I am running because I believe that, of the many valid causes out there today, Snow City Arts is deserving of the support from the Chicagoland community. Especially in the time of COVID, when hospitals are an even scarier place and are more isolated than ever for children in hospitals, Snow City Arts is a source of light.

If you want to support Snow City Arts yourself, please join my fundraising team! It is very easy to help you get involved and it is a great excuse to get some physical activity before the Winter rolls around. If not, I am asking for you to consider donating to support me as I complete my own challenge! Anything helps, and everything raised goes directly to support the mission of Snow City Arts.

About Snow City Arts:

Snow City Arts inspires youth in Chicago area hospitals by helping them create and learn about art. Each year, Snow City Arts provides arts instruction to approximately 1,300 patients at Rush University Children’s Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Children's Hospital University of Illinois, and Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital. On April 24, 2020 launched the Snow City Arts Virtual Learning workshops as a result of the increased isolation created by the impacts of COVD 19 pandemic and shelter in place orders.  This model of program delivery will continue to evolve, as will our attention to creating a dynamic, anti-racist, Federal and State standard aligned curriculum that can be differentied for a variety of learners ages 5-24.
