The Capital District YMCA offers a free and unique program for teens in middle school and high school.

Our Black & Latino Achievers Program welcomes students from all backgrounds, and helps them develop skills, raise their academic standards, graduate from high school and focus on career goals.

Members of the Achievers Program are provided with the opportunity to set exciting career and education goals, and get the help they need to achieve those goals.

I have been involved with the Capital District YMCA since 1993. In that time, I have seen first hand the impact the Y and the Achievers program has had on our community’s youth. The program nurtures our youth to become thriving adults. As an anchor in the Capital District, the Y is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, knowing that these efforts create better opportunities for all. In the critical role as community advocate and partner, the Y is uniquely positioned to bring our community together.

We are committed to bringing people with diverse backgrounds and experiences together to listen, learn, and share through programs like the Black and Latino Achievers.
