Nearly two years into the Covid-19 pandemic, the world is reopening for many, but barriers continue to prevent those with disabilities from being able to fully participate in the recovery. One of those barriers has been the rising cost of programs that allow those with IDD to have meaningful social experiences. These programs not only help those with disabilities by connecting them with engaging activities, but they also give caregivers a much-needed break. After so many months of quarantining, it has never been more important for The Arc to provide these services, but with costs on the rise due to new Covid protocols, some will be priced out of participating.

But you can help! Please join me, and donate to The Arc of Essex County today. When you do, your fundraising dollars will be directed to a newly established Community Recreation Fund, which will help offset the rising prices and provide scholarships to those who need it. Your contribution can immediately make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with IDD by giving them access to the in-person activities they have missed for so long.
