I began my Y Story in the spring of 2005, not having any idea how the Y would impact my own life. As some of us say, I "drank the kool-aid" and never left, which is why I'm asking you to consider supporting this amazing organization!
Because of my particular role in the Y, I have been privileged to make friends with so many dear people of all ages and get to hear and see the difference the Y makes in all of them. I believe that everyone should have the chance to create their own Y story and to benefit in the way that fits them best. I can picture the faces of so many who have had the chance because of donors just like you--those working parents who otherwise could not afford the wonderful and safe Afterschool and Camp programs for their kids; the kids with special needs who have fun and inclusive activities just like every kid should have; the widows and widowers who may not have gotten out of bed that day if they weren't sure they were going to meet their Y friends; the moms who need a little exercise break to spur them on to the rest of their day in a better frame of mind; those who are overweight and have learned they are welcomed and accepted at the Y and are choosing to get healthier one step at a time.
I really could go on and on, but the point is that the Y is positively impacting those all around us and I want to help make sure we can continue to do ALL the things we need to do to meet people where they are and provide something that will improve the quality of their life--in spirit, mind and body.
