Logistics

Is the event virtual like the past two years?

No, our Caracole AIDS Walk + 5K/10K Run 2022 is live and in-person at Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum on Sunday, May 22. We're excited to gather together again to positively change lives in the fight against HIV/AIDS! As a public health nonprofit, we will take precautions to ensure the in-person experience is safe for participants! See the Safety section below!

I noticed there are several different ways to register. What is that all about?

You have the option to sign up for the 5K course as an adult walker, the 5K course as an adult runner or the 10K course as an adult runner. We also have youth rates (ages 19 and younger) for the 5K course as a walker, the 5K course as a runner or the 10K course as a runner. No matter which registration option you choose, you will receive an event t-shirt and swag bag plus the pride in knowing that you are helping the HIV+ and at-risk communities!

When and where can I get my event packet?

Event materials including event bib and t-shirt can be collected the morning of the event beginning at 8:00 AM. Due to the proximity of parking to the event setup, if you choose not to wear your gear, you can return this to your vehicle before the walk/run starts. An email with more specifics will be sent to you as we get closer to the event.

I want to maximize my fundraising efforts by creating a team. How do I do that?

Easy-peasy! You'll have the option to create or join a team during the registration process. After you select your participation option, you will have the ability to register as "As an Individual" or "Join or Start a Team." Once you select the "Join or Start a Team" option, the successive prompts will take you easily through the rest of the process!

I would like to run/walk with others for the event. Can I sign up multiple people at once?

Yes, we’re glad you asked! You will simply need to add these people as registrants to your primary registration using the "Add Another Participant" button that appears below your contact information during the registration process.

How do I get to event?

Our 2022 AIDS Walk + 5K/10K Run will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum, located in Spring Grove Village.  The event will start and end directly behind the Spring Grove funeral home building located at 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45232 [Google Map].

Where can I park?

Please use the parking spaces around the Spring Grove Funeral Home building; do not park on the grass. Volunteers will be available to direct you to overflow parking if necessary. We encourage all participants to carpool.

Can I bring my furry friend to the event?

Although Caracole loves pets, your Fido or Fifi has to stay home. Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum does not permit pets of any kind on the property at any time. However, service dogs are permitted when providing support/service to one in need. We thank you for your cooperation in leaving your pets at home.

Safety

What precautions are in place for this event?

Your safety and health is of the upmost importance to us, so Caracole is creating a mask-friendly environment at our AIDS Walk + Run. Vaccinated attendees will have the option of choosing whether to wear a mask, while those who are unvaccinated will need to wear a mask. Please do not attend the AIDS Walk + Run event if you are not feeling well or have symptoms, irrespective of your vaccine status. If you have a condition that weakens your immune system or take certain medications, you may need to take extra precautions even if you are fully vaccinated, as instructed by your doctor. Caracole encourages you and everyone you love, care for, or care about to be vaccinated.

Donations

Where should I mail a donation check?

You can quickly donate online via this website. However, if you would prefer to mail a check, address it to Caracole and mail it to 4138 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45223. Checks can be made payable to Caracole. Once we receive your donation, we will send you an acknowledgement letter of your gift.

What happens if I check the checkbox to “cover progressing fees”?

If you select “Cover Progressing Fees,” you are agreeing to pay the established registration price along with the fees associated with our fundraising website. By clicking this button, you are ensuring that your total registration cost is going to Caracole and helping to support those living with HIV/AIDS in our community—thank you!

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes! All donations are tax-deductible. You will receive an automated emailed receipt for your tax records. An additional letter will be mailed to you after the event.

Are registrations tax-deductible?
