I have volunteered with JA twice in the past year (teaching 1st and 4th grades). Each experience was unique but one thing was the same; I left each day with a full heart.

It is a wonderful experience to be able to remove yourself from your normal, day-to-day life and put yourself in a position to interact with a classroom full of children and let them know that the community around them supports them and wants them to be successful. That is the true gift of this program. It is not the lessons we teach but the encouragement the kids walk away with knowing that there are people in the world beyond their immediate familes, friends, neighbors and teachers who have a genuine interest in their well-being and future. It is something that I hope they carry with them always.

I am very happy that this program exists and that I can contribute to its success. I would appreciate any donation you can make to help us raise funds for them. Thank you.
