Why I Support ALAN

I'll never forget when we watched the tragedy as Katrina hit the mainland and the logistics mess that caused so many people to not get the aid they so desperately needed. Seeing this and knowing, so much of the suffering could be eliminated if the logistics of the response was handled better made me think . . . this is what I do. If only my friends and I had a way to offer our support, things could be better. That's when we decided to create what is now known as ALAN. It's been a great experience seeing people come together, offer their expertise and resources, and be able to give hope to people when they need it most. I can guarantee anyone who supports ALAN that you will never look at a hurricane, wild fire, flood, tornado, or other disaster the same and you'll feel great knowing that, through ALAN, you were able to help someone, maybe even save their life.
