I’m excited to be participating in ALD Connect - 2026 Community Campaign, a fundraiser supporting ALD Connect. 

I am raising funds this month in honor my mother Nancy's 90th birthday. She suffered debiliating symptoms from this rare genetic disease for decades because she lived in a time when our medical professionals didn't understand nerve conditions. Current medical researhers are working hard to find a cure for adrenoluekodystrophy so I'm very hopeful that members of my family, especially my son and I, will not suffer like my mother.

I’m participating in this fundraiser as a daughter, parent and patient in the ALD community.

My son was diagnosed 2 years ago at age 35 when he was diagnosed with an adernal crisis.  ALD was the cause.  That ALD diagnosis answered so many question for us regarding my mothers battles, my health issues and now my sons challenges.  

ALD Connect had played a huge role in our education, treatment and hope by providing a supportive community and reaserach for a cure. 

I’m proud to support this fundraiser and to stand alongside other families who are helping move this work forward. Thank you for for supporting the research and collaboration that will ultimately change the course of this disease.
