I’m thrilled to be participating in A Million Steps for Scleroderma LAOC 2026, a fundraiser supporting Scleroderma Foundation of California! I’m passionate about this cause and need your help! Every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.
Jacquie Never Stopped Believing in a Cure — So We Will Never Stop Walking.
This is the story of a beautiful and vibrant soul—our beloved BFF, Jacquie.
Jacquie was a firecracker from the moment I met her. She was a passionate advocate for so many causes: animals, children, schools, women, equality—you name it. She always stood up for what mattered and for the people and causes she loved.
When it came time that she needed support, it was difficult to find at first—until she discovered the Scleroderma Foundation community. There she quickly found encouragement, support, and connection through both the council and the members who understood the fight she was facing.
We began participating in the walk together in 2009, and we continued walking until Jacquie lost her battle on August 30, 2015.
Jacquie had a fierce fire in her soul that everyone felt the moment they met her. And even if you never had the chance to meet her personally, if you’ve heard us talk about her, you already know—she was a warrior who fought bravely through an incredibly difficult journey.
She had the heart of a Labrador and the most joyful, happy-go-lucky personality. Jacquie was truly a people person with a heart of gold. She left behind a loving husband and a daughter who has now grown up and is attending college—something Jacquie would be so proud of.
It has now been 11 years this August since we lost Jacquie, and we still walk for her every single year. Because there simply aren’t enough steps we can take to understand why people must endure this sometimes tragic disease—or to find the cure that so many desperately need.
Jacquie would absolutely want us to keep going—to keep walking, raising awareness, and fighting for a cure. So the Three Amigos continue to walk in the Scleroderma Million Step Walk, often in our tutus and T-shirts, honoring Jacquie every step of the way.
We will continue to walk for her.
We will continue to fight for a cure.
And we will continue to carry her love for animals and people forward in her name.
Please join me in the fight against scleroderma.
Donate if you can, share this page, and help us raise at least $1,000 toward finding a cure.
My miracle prayer and dream is that we raise more than we ever imagined in Jacquie’s honor.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Jacquie’s story. “Jacquie never stopped believing in a cure—and neither will we. Help us keep her fight alive.”
God bless you.
