I am the president of Students Protecting Animals UPEI. We intend to hold a vegan bake sale on campus, where we will donate all of the proceeds to this cause.

I went vegetarian at 13 and then vegan at 14. All it took was 10 minutes of a video called "Meet Your Meat" and I knew I would never support the animal agriculture industry again.

I study Sociology and Anthropology, with a minor in Diversity and Social Justice Studies. I intend to spend my life helping animals, and I have yet to decide on a specific career! I'm considering going into animal law though :)

Legislation needs to change! Animals CANNOT continue to be categorized as property in Canada's Criminal Code. They need more protection, and that ultimately comes down to laws (and by-laws) at federal, provincial, and municipal levels.

Animal Justice works to make those changes for animals.
