We are Going Voiceless for The Animals

Many people are shocked to learn that Canada has some of the worst animal protection laws in the western world.

For example:

  1. In Canada, its legal to kill & eat your pets
  2. Its legal to import and sell dog and cat fur
  3. Most sexual abuse of animals is legal
  4. The barbaric leg-hold trap is, legal despite being banned in over 85 countries
  5. There are no federal laws or oversight for zoos & aquariums
  6. Canada’s animal cruelty laws have barely changed since 1950’s
  7. Trophy hunting imports are still legal
  8. Canada kills over 4 million animals for their fur every year 
  9. Canada needs a national ban on whale & dolphin captivity
  10.  Its still legal to import and sell elephant ivory and shark fin
  11. Canada needs a national ban on cosmetic animal testing
  12. There are no federal regulations protecting animals on farms
  13. Its legal to transport farmed animals in all extreme weather conditions for up to 52 hours without food, water or rest
  14. There are no federal laws protecting animals in labs
  15. Fishes are often unprotected by cruelty laws

Animals desperately need our help. On October 12thwe have pledged to go silent for an entire day to help raise funds to support Animal Justice’s mission to combat cruelty and transform the legal and political system to increase protections for animals in Canada.

It's the least we can do for the millions of animals whose voices are silenced by the industries that abuse them, and the political forces that ignore their suffering.
