Helping Animals by Supporting Animal Justice

Canada’s animal protection laws have not been updated since the 1950s and are some of the worst in the western world.

Hunting and trapping season has begun for another year. The cruel leg hold trap is banned in more than 85 countries but is still used to capture and torture wild animals, and sometimes, inadvertently, pets. If trapped animals don’t die of exposure or pain before the trapper shows up, they’ll ultimately be clubbed or shot to death.

I’m going silent on October 13 to help raise funds for the team at Animal Justice, Canada’s only national law organization working to transform Canada into a kinder country for animals. Animal Justice defends animals in court, pushing for stronger laws, and working to ensure the laws already on the books are vigorously enforced.

Animal Justice needs our help to raise funds to support its vital work to transform the legal system and protect animals who have no voice in our legal and political systems.
