Your contributions to The Gifford Youth Orchestra help ensure costs never impedes a child from learning to express and create music deeply, receive the many social and cognitive benefits of performing in a musical ensemble, and make positive life choices as a result of this participation and learning.

Over the past 20 years, we have grown from serving 15 youth at the Gifford Community Center to now serving 100 youth with weekly music education across three locations with a team of 9 teaching artists. This would not have been possible without the efforts of our founder, Dr. Crystal Bujol, and the unwavering support from our individual supporters like you.

To continue our mission and vision to ensure all children throughout the Gifford community and greater Indian River County have access to transformative music-making experiences this year, we are calling on our community of friends and supporters to help us raise $100,000. We firmly believe that every child should have access to the life-changing benefits of music education, and we need your help to make this vision a reality.

Your support allows us to continue offering high-quality music education to hundreds of youth in our afterschool programs and summer camp.  Included with your help GYO organizes over nine annual community concerts and over fifteen local performance for not-for profits events, such as The Indian River Cleveland Clinic, United Against Poverty and Riverside Children’s Theatre.

Each of you has played a crucial role in our growth over the past 20 years, we ask you to consider giving today to continue supporting The Gifford Youth Orchestra’s students.

About Gifford Youth Orchestra

The mission of The Gifford Florida Youth Orchestra (GYO) is to ensure the long-term musical and social success of our students, and to positively impact them and their families through quality music education and performance.  Our vision since our founding in 2003 has been to decrease the disparity in access to the arts for children of color and socio-economically challenged, primarily focused on the Gifford community. 85% of our students live in the Gifford zip code area. Evidence shows that the arts can make a profound difference in a young person’s life, specifically those who have experienced hardship, poverty, and adversity at a young age. To ensure and increase access to our programming, we have partnered with several organizations such as Indian River County Schools, Children's Services Advisory Committee, Impact 100, John’s Island Service League, Indian River Community Foundation, and people just like you!
