Ovarian cancer – the deadliest women’s cancer – has no early detection test or universal means of prevention. This spring, a group of ovarian cancer survivors, medical providers and caregivers will trek to the rooftop of the world to put the first ovarian cancer survivors ever on the 29,029 foot summit. We strive to raise 2.9 million dollars for ovarian cancer prevention and early detection research and awareness.

Why I am climbing....

Ovarian Cancer is one of the deadliest diagnoses for a woman to receive. Due to an insidious onset, many women are unaware of its presence until the later stages of its progression. I am honored to be joining this project as an Any Mountain Everest Team Member and supporter.

In April 2023, I will assist fellow mountain guide and friend, Jess Wedel, in leading a group of ovarian cancer survivors, oncologists, and and their loved ones from Kathmandu to Base Camp of Mount Everest. At this point, the team will say goodbye to Jess and another inspiring surivor, friend, and mountain climber, Mary Beth Kepner. Jess and Mary Beth will continue on towards the summit of Mount Everest.

These amazing women wish be the first two Ovarian Cancer survivors to stand on the summit of Everest. This trek and their climb to the top will attempt to raise a total of $2.9 million to increase awareness and fund research into early detection and preventative measures.
